Daniel Henn
Chief of PoliceChief Henn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Marist College and graduated from the John H. Stamler Police Academy on December 7, 1999. Chief Henn began his career with the New Providence Police Department in January 2000 and was appointed as the Borough's eighth Chief of Police effective August 2022. Chief Henn is also appointed as the Emergency Management Coordinator.
Chief Henn has served in nearly all areas of the Police Department during his career including both Patrol and the Detective Bureau divisions. He has attended numerous practical training classes such as Alcotest operation, Accident Investigation and CPR and AED operation. He has formerly served as the liaison to the State Police for NCIC and CJIS operations and and was trained as a Drug Recognition Expert and a DARE officer. He is also certified in Methods of Instruction and previously taught new Police recruits at the John H. Stamler Police Academy, focusing on Report Writing and Patrol Practices. Chief Henn is a Certified Public Manager and has attended leadership classes presented by the FBI and New Jersey Chief's of Police Association.

Stephen Drown
CaptainCaptain Drown attended the John H. Stamler Police Academy as an Alternate Route Candidate and began his career as a Patrol Officer with the New Providence Police Department in 2002. He graduated from Lycoming College with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Lieutenant Drown currently serves the Department as the Captain of Police.
Captain Drown is a Child Safety Seat Technician, Community Policing Officer, Crisis Intervention and Field Training Officer. He also has served as the head of the Department's Crash Investigation Team and has previously served as a Corporal, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Traffic Sergeant, Patrol Commander, and Detective Bureau Commander. He is an instructor for the Department and at the John H. Stamler Police Academy for Emergency Vehicle Operation and Police Response to Individuals with Mental Health. He has also served as a past Vice President and President of the New Providence PBA Local 132.
