In 2020, the New Providence Police began the Police and Communities Together program. This program was created to broaden the experience to all members in the community to bridge gaps and create an actual pact with our citizens. The program was modeled after the P.A.T.T. (Police and Teens Together) program originally created by the Union County Human Relations Commission. Some of the topics addressed in this program are:
- Icebreaker conversations
- Perspectives on Law Enforcement
- Race Relations nationally/locally
- Officers as people and as professions
- Community programs/activities
- Training
- Law Enforcement real-life training videos
- Role-playing
- Building bridges and mutual respect
- Community Policing initiative
