AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN NEW PROVIDENCE

New Providence has various opportunities for rental and for-purchase units.  For information about these units, please visit Affordable Homes in New Jersey.  Community Grants, Planning & Housing (CGP&H) is the Administrative Agent for New Providence’s affordable housing.  

On the Affordable Homes in New Jersey website, you can: 

•    Complete a preliminary application

•    Find out income guidelines for eligibility

•    Join the Borough’s and other municipalities’ waiting lists

•    See current listings of affordable units for rent and for purchase in New Providence and in other        municipalities, and

•    Get other information about affordable housing and view Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

New Providence currently has a waiting list for affordable housing in the Borough.  If you are interested in affordable housing in New Providence, use the Apply Now link on Affordable Homes in New Jersey. Households that join the CGP&H waiting list to rent or purchase an affordable unit in New Providence will be included in the lottery for new affordable housing projects if CGP&H is the Administrative Agent. If you have already applied for affordable housing in New Providence, your place on the waiting list remains the same and you do not need to re-apply. 

How do I know if I’m eligible for Affordable Housing?

Go to the FAQ tab on Affordable Homes in New Jersey to view income limits.  You can also submit the short on-line preliminary application and you will be notified immediately if you are over the income limits.
