The County of Union, Bureau of Traffic Safety and Maintenance, intends to officially close the bridge on January 27 to allow utility companies to make their disconnects. The current official start date for work will be 2 weeks later on February 10.The nature of the work will be the remediation of the bridge which will include replacing the bridge deck. Due to the nature of the project, the roadway will be fully closed to vehicles.
A detour around the closure for vehicular traffic will be posted and maintained by the contractor for the duration of the project. All Emergency Responders will need to plan alternate routes. The County recognizes the inconvenience that any road construction may cause and apologizes for any difficulties encountered. The County shall make every effort to have the work completed as soon as possible.
