[ARCHIVED] New Bike Racks Installed Downtown

The construction that was taking place in the Village Shopping Center along Springfield Avenue is finally complete and new bike racks have been installed in front of Starbucks and Chipotle!  The Downtown Improvement District (DID), the Borough, and Urstadt-Biddle (the Village Shopping Center owner) worked cooperatively to complete the project.

That area had been problematic because it was difficult to grow and maintain the grass.  As a result, the area always looked unkempt.  When the DID approached the borough and Urstadt-Biddle about possibly paving the area and installing bike racks, everyone was immediately on-board and enthusiastic about the project.

Urstadt-Biddle came up with plans that were quickly approved by the borough.  The project was funded entirely by Urstad-Biddle.  The completed project looks beautiful, and it is much easier to maintain than the grass.  In addition, it provides a convenient area to park bikes when visiting our wonderful shops and restaurants downtown!
