Train Station Parking
Permits are typically sold on an annual basis and are prorated monthly based on the date of purchase. Refunds may be requested in writing for any remaining full month(s). Permit year typically runs from April 1st to March 31st.
- Permits are a permanent sticker for the outside of the vehicle and are non-transferable. Permits must be affixed to the exterior rear-facing window on the left side.
- Proof of residency is required for Resident Permits and must be attached to your application. The vehicle specified in the application must be owned or leased by a New Providence resident.
- Non-Resident permits are sold annually if there is space available. See the following for more information.
Resident Parking Permits
New Providence has two train stations for resident permit holders; the New Providence station and the Murray Hill station. Permits are made available to residents upon request and can be used at either train station. These permits do not guarantee a parking space. The New Providence train lot generally fills up first. Once the lot is filled, you may park at the Murray Hill Railroad lot. All vehicles must be parked facing in and in a marked parking space. Violators are subject to summonses.
Residents of New Providence may purchase a parking permit for a vehicle they own or lease for use in the train lots. Resident parking permits can be purchased online through the Borough website, in person at the Borough Clerk's Office, or by mail.
