Lieutenant Sretenovic joined the New Providence Police Department as a Police Dispatcher in August 2002. Prior to joining the New Providence Police Department, Lieutenant Sretenovic attended Rutgers University where he attained a Bachelor's Degree in English. He attended the John H. Stamler Police Academy as an Alternate Route candidate and was hired as a Patrol Officer in December 2003. Lieutenant Sretenovic currently serves the Department as the Detective Bureau Commander.
Lieutenant Sretenovic is certified in Crisis Intervention, Advanced Accident Investigation and Vehicle Dynamics, and is a Child Passenger Safety Technician. He teaches both Prevention of Domestic Violence Act and Report Writing to the police recruits at the John H. Stamler Police Academy. He is the Department's Domestic Violence Liaison, Bias Crime Liaison, and a member of the Accident Investigation Team. He has previously served as a Dispatcher, Patrol Officer, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, and Detective Sergeant.
